Sheila G's Brownie Brittle & a Giveaway!

It happens every time I decide to bake a pan of brownies, you know, the ones that are crispy around the edges & gooey in the middle. The pan comes out, I sprinkle them with powdered sugar, wait a bit & cut them. Just a little bit longer for them to cool & I can eat one. I get sidetracked doing a million other things & suddenly remember my brownies. I go to get an edge piece (my favorite) & realize that all that's left is the gooey rectangle center! (Insert dramatic cries here.) 

Luckily for me (& I'm sure a million others), there's a solution. Sheila G's Brownie Brittle.

Sheila G. Mains could very well be considered a confectionery genius. After gathering the brittle batter from sheet pans while the brownies were cooling on racks, she wondered how she could create a whole pan of crunchy edges. Obviously she figured it out, but she also figured out how to have amazingly delicious flavors too!

Chocolate Chip

I was pleased to see the millions of chocolate chips covering every piece of Brownie Brittle. OK, there weren't millions, but there was a lot!

Toffee Crunch

I'm not really a toffee fan, but this was amazing! Amidst the crunch of the Brownie Brittle, there was just a slight stickiness from the toffee. Actually it's the stickiness that usually turns me off when it comes to toffee, but this really was the perfect amount. Which means that this was the favorite of my toffee loving hubs. 

Salted Caramel

I am a huge fan of salted caramel anything, so I was downright giddy when I saw this flavor. The best part was that you could taste salted caramel & chocolate brownie in every bite! Needless to say, these didn't last very long.

Mint Chocolate Chip

My favorite flavor by far! Of course this was my oldest daughter's favorite flavor too, so it lasted about a day. Which honestly shocked me since I thought we were going to devour the bag in 20 min. Talk about willpower!

Of course it was after the fact that I even realized there were recipes. Which basically just means that I have to get more Brownie Brittle because I have a Pumpkin Pie with a Brownie Brittle Crust calling my name. (You hear it too, don't you?)
