Snacktastic Saturday: Smores Cake Batter Dip

I live in a Smore's household. So much so that I chose the theme for my soon to be 4 year old's birthday party, to compliment the genius idea of having a Smore's bar. Yes, it's that serious folks. But when the need for a gooey Smore arises & there's no way to get over an open flame, it'll be OK.

How To:

•chocolate cake mix
•plain yogurt
•marshmallow cream
•graham crackers

•Mix cake mix with yogurt in medium size bowl with electric mixer. (I make my own yogurt & freeze small containers for smoothies, but I used two of them for this recipe. So probably two single serving cups worth.)
•Add marshmallow cream & mix thoroughly.
•Serve with graham crackers.

*This would also be good with some mini chocolate chips added to it.

Fun Friday: Stone Tic-Tac-Toe

You always see the cutesy stone tic-tac-toe sets on Pinterest. But when you know that when Spring comes, parts of your yard will be dug up, then those won't really work out too well. Perhaps next Summer. But until then...

I got a large plain square paver stone from Home Depot to use as our board. I also gathered some decent size stones from the garden. (That rocky dirt finally came in handy!) I just used sidewalk chalk for the lines, X's & O's. Once the older two kids finally decide what to paint on the stones I'll customize it all. So far the top contenders are different color soccer balls, cows & horses, apples & oranges. And maybe something was mentioned about a monster truck & dinosaurs? But while that is still an ongoing debate, they can still play. Which makes them happy.

Noxicare natural Pain Relief Cream & A Giveaway

About 5 years ago, my husband had arthroscopic knee surgery & lost a large amount of his meniscus. After (somewhat) following doctor's orders & physical therapy, he was left with a bit of osteoarthritis. Since then I've learned a couple things. He is incapable of taking it easy on his joints (although his job does contribute to that a bit). And he is unable to take any kind of vitamin that may be helpful. So it should have come as no surprise that his knee has been bothering him a lot lately. But what's worse, is that the other knee (the surgery free one) has been too!

Luckily for him, as bad as he is at listening to a doctor & taking vitamins, he's great at trying creams. Trust me, I have an arsenal of ones that didn't pass the test to prove it. Luckily for me, that arsenal is now done growing.

"Noxicare™ is a breakthrough natural, patent-pending pain relief formula that is a proprietary combination of 7 of the world's most potent natural pain relievers that quickly and effectively alleviate inflammation, muscle aches and nerve pain—with NO known side effects and without a prescription."

After applying the yellow, non-greasy cream to my husband's knees, the first thing I noticed was that it was completely odorless. We're so used to that strong medicinal smell & associating it with the effectiveness of a product. So I'll admit, we were both skeptical at how effective it could really be. But his knees felt good after a couple hours & he went to bed. The next day he applied the pain relief cream to his knees before & after work. Again, he said they felt good. But after skipping a day, we were convinced. His knees didn't feel good because he was just having a good day (anyone with pain will know what I mean by that), they felt good because of Noxicare. He could really tell what a difference the cream had made & now applies it 2-3 times daily as recommended.

And with ingredients like ginger, turmeric & rosemary extracts, it's no wonder it provides a natural pain relief. That means it's safe to use everyday. Which is great news for my husband!

Think It Thursday: Balancing Kids Sports

Soccer is officially under way for my 7 year old, Paige. Practice 2 nights a week & games on Saturdays until the beginning of October. It doesn't seem like much & really, it isn't. Just 3 hours a week.

But practices are right around dinnertime so that requires a bit of shuffling. Then there's Saturday games. We usually have plenty of places to go & people to see so a late game can throw us all off. Add in the hubs working a couple Saturday shifts & the start of school in a few weeks...total chaos. At least for a bit. We'll get into the groove of things, we always do. Ironically, just in time for the last game.

But if anyone has any helpful tips on how to easily balance it all, please share!
